December 3, 2013. Will and Kate were briefly spotted on their way to the Queen’s annual diplomatic reception at Buckingham Palace. And lucky for us, this white tie affair was Kate’s first chance to wear a tiara since the royal wedding!
Kate glittered in the Lotus Flower Tiara, also known as the Papyrus Tiara. The stunning head-topper originally belonged to the Queen Mother, and it was actually made from a necklace she received from her husband, the future George VI.
Sadly we did not get a good look at Kate’s lace ice-blue Alexander McQueen dress, but we did notice she was wearing the same diamond earrings, loaned to her by the queen, that Kate wore in 2011 to the BAFTA LA reception while on her first royal tour to North America.
